## Key Umbraco and .NET support dates

- 14 Dec 2025 — Umbraco 13: security-only phase begins
- 10 Nov 2026 — .NET 8: end of Microsoft support \(Umbraco 13 runtime\)
- 14 Dec 2026 — Umbraco 13: lifecycle and security updates end
- 27 Nov 2027 — Umbraco 17: security-only support begins
- 27 Nov 2028 — Umbraco 17: end of life

Support status

## EOL does not switch your site off. It does change the risk.

A site on Umbraco 13 does not stop working automatically. It entered security-only support on 14 December 2025; its lifecycle and security updates end on 14 December 2026. XLTS can extend the security window, but it is not a substitute for a modernisation plan.

- Together, we identify the website features your business depends on\.
- We handle the plan, content transfer, testing and launch of the new version\.
- If you need more time, we explain support extension options and plan the next steps\.

Choose a route

## Two sensible routes to Umbraco 17.

You do not need to choose the technology or migration route yourself. We review your site, recommend a suitable approach and clearly explain the scope, costs and next steps.

01

### Upgrade the existing solution

A fit when the current architecture, content and extensions give us a sound starting point. We assess version steps, package compatibility and the work required after the platform change.

- retain proven editorial workflows
- control the scope of code changes
- validate after each meaningful stage

02

### Fresh 17 installation and data transfer

Useful when the existing project needs more structural cleanup. We design the target model, transfer schema and content with Deploy, then rebuild only the integrations that are needed.

- a clearer boundary for the new architecture
- intentional transfer of schema and content
- a chance to reduce historic debt

You tell us what your business needs. We review the site, content and connections to other systems — no technical specification required.

04

### We launch and support

First step

## Know the scope before you commit.

It starts with a free 30-minute call. We then review your site: Umbraco and .NET versions, packages, custom code, integrations and SEO. You get a recommended route, an estimate and a list of risks. The review costs €660 excl. VAT, and if we carry out your migration, you do not pay for it.

- A free 30\-minute call to start, with no obligation\.
- Pre\-migration review: €660 excl\. VAT, free if we carry out your migration\.
- A technical audit of your site with every migration, at no extra cost: what can and should be improved\.

What the audit needs to cover

## Migration is more than changing a version number.

This is our checklist, not a list of requirements for you. We assess the technology and dependencies while discussing your business needs and how the site should work after migration.

01

### Platform and backoffice

- backoffice architecture changes and the end of AngularJS
- \.NET version, configuration and environments
- roles, permissions and the publishing process

02

### Features and data

- packages, custom extensions and compatibility
- Umbraco Forms and licences
- document types, media, dictionary items and content

03

### Visibility and integrations

- SEO: URLs, redirects, metadata and sitemap
- CRM, ERP, payments and external integrations
- analytics, consent and measurement after release

Common questions

## What do we usually settle first?

### Do I need technical expertise to migrate?

No. That is our job. Tell us about your site and what your business needs. We check the Umbraco version, propose a plan and handle the technical work. We explain decisions in plain language and guide you through every stage.

### Will we lose content or the design?

We do not assume that. We first inventory content types, media and views. The transfer scope and elements that need rebuilding are agreed before work begins.

### How long will migration take?

It depends on the starting version, extensions, content model, integrations and test requirements. After the audit we describe the work and sequence instead of promising a generic timeline.

### Can we stay on Umbraco 13?

The site can continue to run, but support and security should be managed consciously. XLTS is a bridge when extra time is needed to prepare the migration.

### Does XLTS replace migration?

No. XLTS extends protection for a defined period; it does not resolve technology dependencies or the need to move to a maintained version.

### Do we have to rebuild everything?

Not necessarily. The audit identifies what can be retained, what needs updating and what is worth redesigning.

### When does support end for Umbraco 13 and .NET 8?

Umbraco 13 entered its security-only phase on 14 December 2025 and reaches end of life, with no further security updates, on 14 December 2026. Earlier, on 10 November 2026, Microsoft ends support for .NET 8, the runtime Umbraco 13 runs on. After these dates the site keeps running but gets no security fixes unless you buy XLTS.
